I’m Using FastChip 1999. How Do I Update to the Various third-party development boards, such as the XESS myCSoC kit and the All American iKit2000 board, still ship with obsolete versions of the Triscend FastChip development system. If you recently purchased one of these boards, you can receive a free update to the latest version of the Triscend FastChip development system, either by downloading the latest software from the Triscend web site or by requesting a CD-ROM. Downloading FastChip from the WebYou can download the latest production version of FastChip directly from the Triscend web site. Simply point your favorite web browser to the following link. The download image is approximately 40 MB. http://www.triscend.com/products/indexfcupdate.html Requesting a FastChip Update CD-ROM and New FastChip LicenseYou can request a FastChip CD-ROM from the following web link. Also use this link to receive a FastChip 2.x license (Triscend Registration Key). http://www.triscend.com/products/textfc2xrequest.html What If I Don’t Want to Update?Triscend strongly recommends that all new FastChip licensees update to the latest version as soon as possible to take full advantage of new features and enhancements. If you choose not to update to the latest version of FastChip, at least be sure that you are running FastChip 1999.0.4, the last release of FastChip 1999. FastChip 1999.0.4 is available as a separate installation on the XESS myCSoC CD-ROM or on the iKit2000 CD-ROM. The licensing web site for FastChip 2.x will not work for FastChip 1999. If you have a temporary FastChip license—printed on the sticker attached to the FastChip 1999 CD-ROM case—apply for a permanent license using the following link. http://www.triscend.com/products/TextRegister.asp?TransactionType=UpgradePrePurchase See related article #16767, How Do I Determine Which Version of FastChip 1999 I Have?
